There are two kingdoms

So Pilate entered his headquarters again and called Jesus and said to him, "Are you the King of the Jews?" Jesus answered, "Do you say this of your own accord, or did others say it to you about me?" Pilate answered, "Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests have delivered you over to me. What have you done?" Jesus answered, "My Kingdom is not of this world. If my Kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my Kingdom is not from the world." Then Pilate said to him, "So you are a king?" Jesus answered, "You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice."
John 18:33-37 (ESV)

There are two kingdoms and only two. God, who is the King of Kings, the Creator, and Sustainer of life, rules the Kingdom. Satan is the prince of the power of the air and continually attempts to rule what belongs to God. You are either in one Kingdom or the other and cannot be in both.

In Ecclesiastes 1:14 (ESV), we are told, "I have seen everything that is done under the sun, and behold, all is vanity and a striving after wind."

Satan is attempting to lure people into chasing the wind knowing that in the end, after they catch it and look at their catch, they will have nothing. Therefore, he elevates the worthless, honors the dishonorable, and praises men, when each one does what is right in their own eyes.

Jesus knew what Kingdom He was in. Do you?

One day, we answer to God.

It is good that God does not depend upon our ability, faith, or goodness

Hope in a King?
