Significance and Security

In the course of time Cain brought to the Lord an offering of the fruit of the ground, and Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat portions. And the Lord had regard for Abel and his offering, but for Cain and his offering he had no regard.
Genesis 4:3-5

God has told us that there is a particular way to Himself. God has made provision for our sins and needs and is very detailed about how we vicariously go about life. We will either listen to God and be significant and secure, or we will ignore what He has said and try, without success, to find significance and security on our own. Those who try to find significance and security on their own will fail and struggle all their lives with anxiety, depression, and overwhelming feelings of hopelessness.

For now, that choice is ours.

One day, we answer to God.

It is good that God does not depend upon our ability, faith, or goodness
