Wonderful things happen because of God's faithfulness, not our faith

The sick man answered him, "Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, and while I am going another steps down before me." Jesus said to him, "Get up, take up your bed, and walk."
John 5:7-8 (ESV)

Sometimes we get lost in thinking that we do not have enough faith for God to act on our behalf. Yet, there are examples of people who doubted or were confused who Jesus healed.

We like to make everything about us, our proficiencies, gifts, and talents. Then, if something good happens, we begin to talk about our prayers, methods, or our part in the progression and achievement of the goal. We seem to glean importance from elevating our role, and as good Christians, we acknowledge God in the end.

However, wonderful things happen because of God's faithfulness, not our faith. Sinners are saved because of God's mercy and the conviction of the Holy Spirit, not because of our rhetoric or methodology.  All good things come from God and point to God, and those who twist that fact to believe that all good things come from them and point to them will be disappointed. Sinners are saved because of God's mercy and the conviction of the Holy Spirit, not because of our rhetoric or methodology.  All good things come from God and point to God, and those who twist that fact to believe that all good things come from them and point to them will be disappointed.
