God uses what we have.

He said this to test him, for he himself knew what he would do. Philip answered him, "Two hundred denarii worth of bread would not be enough for each of them to get a little." One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, said to him, "There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are they for so many?"
John 6:6-9 (ESV)

Once again, Simon Peter's brother, Andrew, was looking for a solution while Philip was stammering. Andrew seemed to always be in the position of bringing problems to Jesus. He may not have known how Jesus was going to solve this problem, but he knew that he needed to get Him what they had.

God uses what we have. He will never ask us to give what we don't have. He will never require us to answer for something we have no control over.
Andrew recognized the problem, found, and presented what was available to Christ, and trusted He would take care of the rest. And--He did. This is how someone who knows and trusts Jesus acts.

I imagine that Jesus had a slight grin on his face when Andrew presented Him with what he found. A grin of delight for a man who habitually brought people and problems to Him. May we also elicit this "grin" in our daily lives.

One day, we answer to God.

It is good that God does not depend upon our ability, faith, or goodness

Hope in a King?
