What side are you on today?

"For the Lord will pass through to strike the Egyptians, and when he sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the Lord will pass over the door and will not allow the destroyer to enter your houses to strike you. You shall observe this rite as a statute for you and for your sons forever."
Exodus 12: 23-24

God is not tolerant; He is patient. Sin will never rule, even though it is put up with for a time.

God had this last plague in mind that would stun Pharaoh so that he would give in for a moment. God indeed had demonstrated who He was, and this last plague would be about death, the blood of one to free another.

Those who got it would be fine; those who did not get it would not doubt that they made a mistake. Yet, this was not the final act of God in this chain of events.

God would allow the Jewish people to leave, with the spoils of the land and from the people they were slaves to, only to head out to one last epic moment.

As God directed, Moses was leading the people toward the Red Sea. However, Pharaoh, after realizing what losing the slaves meant to the lifestyle of his people and his reputation, decided to take matters into his own hands.

Once again, the table was set, and the universe would sit on the edge of their seats to watch the most powerful man on the earth take on the only real power. But, unfortunately, many hiking towards the Red Sea missed the significance of this moment due to the cataracts of comfort, pragmatism, and ability.

Moses was turning into quite the leader as he told the people to look at the armies of Pharaoh as they approached because they would never see them again. Then God did it; He opened the Red Sea, which would be the passage of life to the Jewish people and a highway to hell for Pharaoh and his mighty army. Of course, the Jewish people could never defeat the Egyptian army, but this army was no match for God.

What side are you on today? Are you on the side of the ones who will regret their ignorance of God or the One who is positioned to show who God is in the circumstance? For now, the choice is yours.

One day, we answer to God.

It is good that God does not depend upon our ability, faith, or goodness

Hope in a King?
