God's plans cannot and will never be foiled.

And the Lord said to Moses, "When you go back to Egypt, see that you do before Pharaoh all the miracles that I have put in your power. But I will harden his heart, so that he will not let the people go."
Exodus 4: 21

God told Moses to listen to Him, to do what He said, and that it would not matter, for Pharaoh would not listen.

Imagine that assignment. "Go and do what I tell you; it will not work."

Well, in a pragmatic sense, it did not make sense unless you were privy to why we exist. We exist to glorify God, not ourselves. We live to show the world who He is, not for comfort, ease, and pleasure. We exist to ensure that all men get a chance to experience the mercy and grace of God.

As the Egyptian world was lost in a maze of gods, God would harden a heart and use one who would never desire to be used for this purpose. Just as Satan has been used to show us God's grace and power, Pharaoh was going to be used to disqualify the other gods as God and leave Him the only qualified God in the universe.

This was not about Moses. It was not about Pharaoh. This was about God.

The more we make life about us, our circumstances, or those around us, the more miserable we are or will be. This universe is about God, the One who loves me and desires me to be a part of His plans and ways.

Adjust your thinking and rejoice in your circumstances today, not because the circumstances are fun, but because you know what they are about, and you know how this ends.

If you do not know God or do not want to know God, you lose, for God, if He chooses, will use you for His sake, and you will gain nothing from it but misery. Check Pharaoh out as a straightforward example.

God's plans cannot and will never be foiled. So join in on them, or live a frustrated life.

One day, we answer to God.

It is good that God does not depend upon our ability, faith, or goodness

Hope in a King?
