Majority is only the Majority

When they heard these words, some of the people said, "This really is the Prophet." Others said, "This is the Christ." But some said, "Is the Christ to come from Galilee? Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the offspring of David, and comes from Bethlehem, the village where David was?" So there was a division among the people over him.
John 7:40-43 (ESV)

People always have opinions. Yet, opinions can never verify facts. People have feelings. Yet, feelings can never verify facts.

People have traditions. Yet, traditions can never verify facts.

People have laws. Yet, laws do not determine right and wrong.

We often rule by majority vote, yet the majority is only the majority, and may be wrong. The only way to know the truth is to discover it, and we must continually challenge our opinions, feelings, traditions, laws, and majority opinions. God's Word is the only hope for humanity.

One day, we answer to God.

It is good that God does not depend upon our ability, faith, or goodness
