If I Am Willing

After this Jesus went about in Galilee. He would not go about in Judea, because the Jews were seeking to kill him.
John 7:1 (ESV)

We often forget the ramifications of our choices. Because God is love, we enjoy real choices with real consequences.

The people of Judea chose to believe lies about Jesus. Jesus was capable of changing their minds, yet He remained consistent with the way He created man to be. Some might accuse Jesus of abandoning the people of Judea, yet, in reality, the people of Judea abandoned Him.

Minimizing man's choices makes humanity irresponsible, and leaves the next generation a legacy of victimization. The connotation here is clear. If the people of Judea were willing to embrace who Jesus was, He would have gone there.

If I am willing to embrace who Jesus is, He will come and be with me. But, for now, the choice is mine.

One day, we answer to God.

It is good that God does not depend upon our ability, faith, or goodness
