Take The Time


And when the hour came, he reclined at table, and the apostles with him. And he said to them, "I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.
Luke 22:14-15 (ESV)
 
Jesus, the King of Kings, the creator and sustainer of life, was speaking of suffering, His suffering. It is incredible to think that Jesus knew what He was headed for and boldly continued towards the goal. He came to die for you and me, and the time had come for Him to finish the task He was sent to accomplish.
 
We need to take time and ponder the implication of this, for Jesus is our example of what a meaningful life and death look like.

Hope in a King?

And the Lord said to Samuel, "Obey the voice of the people in all that they say to you, for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected me from being king over them. According to all the deeds that they have done, from the day I brought them up out of Egypt even to this day, forsaking me and serving other gods, so they are also doing to you Now then, obey their voice; only you shall solemnly warn them and show them the ways of the king who shall reign over them." 1 Samuel 8:7-9 (ESV)   Sometimes, God gives us what we whine for, which is not good for us.
