The answer for our hurting nation is not…

"The LORD saw it and spurned them, because of the provocation of his sons and his daughters. And he said, 'I will hide my face from them; I will see what their end will be, for they are a perverse generation, children in whom is no faithfulness. They have made me jealous with what is no god; they have provoked me to anger with their idols. So I will make them jealous with those who are no people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation. For a fire is kindled by my anger, and it burns to the depths of Sheol, devours the earth and its increase, and sets on fire the foundations of the mountains.”
Deuteronomy 32:19-22 ESV

The foolish who ignore God always create a more convenient "god." People were created to know and love God; when He is out of the picture, we create things to know and love to take His place. In the process, we use what was meant to be love, and love what was meant to be used.
When that happens, we live confused, angry, lonely lives that yield the fruit of depression, anxiety, and hopelessness.

The answer for our hurting nation is not more counseling, medication, or laws. The answer is not found in a Godless world. The answer is repentance. There is only one God who is the source of all life, purpose, and hope. If we ignore Him, we will never experience life and purpose, and will eventually lose all hope.

One day, we answer to God.

It is good that God does not depend upon our ability, faith, or goodness

Hope in a King?
