Regardless

“Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you." Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, "Be strong and courageous, for you shall go with this people into the land that the LORD has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall put them in possession of it. It is the LORD who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed."
Deuteronomy 31:6-8 ESV

Moses was in the final days of his earthly life and reminded the people of the essential truths that will guide and sustain them throughout their lives. The people needed to be strong and courageous because they would face unimaginable resistance as they followed God. They needed to remember that the opposition was against God, not themselves, and that God's presence was all they needed to be victorious.

I have the same hope today: as I listen to God, He will be with me and never leave or forsake me.

Therefore, I can be strong and courageous regardless of my circumstances.

Hope in a King?

And the Lord said to Samuel, "Obey the voice of the people in all that they say to you, for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected me from being king over them.
