Sin is sin.

"You shall not have in your bag two kinds of weights, a large and a small. You shall not have in your house two kinds of measures, a large and a small. A full and fair weight you shall have, a full and fair measure you shall have, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you. For all who do such things, all who act dishonestly, are an abomination to the Lord your God.”
Deuteronomy 25:13-16 ESVST
There is a right and a wrong, which makes things good and bad. Lying (dishonesty) is the native language of Satan, and those who love God should have nothing to do with it. The word "abomination" is clear here as it is in other parts of Scripture: "You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination. And you shall not lie with any animal and so make yourself unclean with it, neither shall any woman give herself to an animal to lie with it: it is perversion." Leviticus 18:22-23 ESVST
Lying and dishonesty have the same evil description as homosexuality and having sex with animals. Sin is sin.

Hope in a King?

And the Lord said to Samuel, "Obey the voice of the people in all that they say to you, for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected me from being king over them.
