Why Grow Up?

And he sat down and called the twelve. And he said to them, “If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.” And he took a child and put him in the midst of them, and taking him in his arms, he said to them, “Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me, and whoever receives me, receives not me but him who sent me.”  Mark 9:35-37 (ESV)
Children are simple. They live in the present and they trust their parents and those to whom their parents have entrusted them. They lack power, prestige, means, and ability. It is essential that children follow and thereby learn.
Children look hopefully to the future and are excited about what is ahead. They express their love freely, speak frankly, and make many innocent mistakes.
Children giggle much, ask many questions, and eat too many sweets.
Why would anyone want to grow up?

One day, we answer to God.

It is good that God does not depend upon our ability, faith, or goodness
