Reminders

And Joshua said to them, "Pass on before the ark of the Lord your God into the midst of the Jordan, and take up each of you a stone upon his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the people of Israel, that this may be a sign among you. When your children ask in time to come, 'What do those stones mean to you….'”
Joshua 4:5-6 ESVST

We need to continually work at setting up reminders of how God works. We seem to see plenty of the devastation of sin or reminders of our failures, with little to remind us to rejoice.
Pain, sorrow, and suffering often eclipse God and His faithfulness to us. The momentary pain seems to destroy the goodness of God and His creation. Our focal point is our failures, pain, and anger rather than our God.

What do you have that you can look at daily and be reminded of God's faithfulness to you? To what can you point the next generation to show them God's mercy, grace, and kindness? We need to be intentional about setting positive reminders and more deliberate about actually looking at them.

One day, we answer to God.

It is good that God does not depend upon our ability, faith, or goodness
