It does not work that way.

The Lord said to Joshua, "Get up! Why have you fallen on your face? Israel has sinned; they have transgressed my covenant that I commanded them; they have taken some of the devoted things; they have stolen and lied and put them among their own belongings. Therefore the people of Israel cannot stand before their enemies."
Joshua 7:10-12 ESVST

There is a time to pray, to cry out to God, and to plead for mercy. There is also a time to stop praying and crying ,and go out and correct the wrong action.  Praying is no substitute for the right actions. The able-lazy person prays for provision rather than works for it. The irresponsible person prays that God helps them pay their bills rather than learn to be responsible. Those who are sick due to a lifestyle pray for healing when they ought to be eating right and exercising.
Prayer is not about living irresponsibly or a way to remove the "effect" from the obvious poor choices we make.  For some reason, we want God to be the sugar daddy in the sky, our go-to provider who will make all of our poor choices "effectless." It does not work that way.

One day, we answer to God.

It is good that God does not depend upon our ability, faith, or goodness

Hope in a King?
