Leaders need to know God

And afterward he read all the words of the law, the blessing and the curse, according to all that is written in the Book of the Law. There was not a word of all that Moses commanded that Joshua did not read before all the assembly of Israel, and the women, and the little ones, and the sojourners who lived among them
Joshua 8:34-35 ESVST

The people had made a mistake and now corrected that mistake. The city of Ai was now gone, and the directives of God had been followed. Now, Joshua wanted to ensure the people had what was necessary to remain strong and courageous. He gathered the people and ensured that he read everything written in the Book of the Law.

A good leader cannot make someone listen to God, but they can ensure they have access to and hear God's Word. Our responsibility is to know God and make Him known, and that is what Joshua will do his best to do.

Today's leaders need to know God and ensure that those around them understand what God has said.
