Something in modern Christianity does not add up.

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.
James 1:2-3 (ESV)
 
James restates what the Scriptures have declared. Those who love God and act like they love God will be under attack. So the author of Hebrews states this in Hebrews 11:36-38: Others suffered mocking and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment. They were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were killed with the sword. They went about in skins of sheep and goats, destitute, afflicted, mistreated of whom the world was not worthy—wandering about in deserts and mountains and in dens and caves of the earth.
 
The world was not worthy of those who love and walk with God, yet, often, modern Christians attempt to live in harmony with this world.

But David said to Abishai, "Do not destroy him, for who can put out his hand against the Lord's anointed and be guiltless?" "He will guard the feet of his faithful ones, but the wicked shall be cut off in darkness, for not by might shall a man prevail. The adversaries of the Lord shall be broken to pieces; against them he will thunder in heaven. The Lord will judge the ends of the earth; he will give strength to his king and exalt the horn of his anointed." 1 Samuel 2:9-10 (ESV)   There is no way to fight God, and one would be foolish to attempt such folly. Yet, some seem to be in a continual battle with the Almighty. You would think they would learn quickly the error of their ways.   Strength never determines victory; proximity does.
