Deception is tricky…

Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. Of his own will, he brought us forth by the word of truth that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
James 1:16-18 (ESV)
 
God is the creator and sustainer of all, and all that He has created is done well. He is the source of all right things. Therefore, those who seek truth in any area must start with Him and end with Him or live and die in error.
 
We can easily be deceived. We can chase wind our entire life and find our hands empty in the end, or we can listen to God.
 
Everyone's circumstances are different and have yielded different results in the care and comforts of this life. We did not choose our parents, country, health, or sickness. When "good" things happen, it is not because God loves us more than others, and it certainly is not because we deserve more than others.
 
Deception is tricky because we have no defenses, for we are convinced we are right. One day, when we stand before God, He will tell us whether we believe the truth or lies. It is best to seek that information while we still have the opportunity.

"He will guard the feet of his faithful ones, but the wicked shall be cut off in darkness, for not by might shall a man prevail. The adversaries of the Lord shall be broken to pieces; against them he will thunder in heaven.
