Love God In Public

So they took away the stone. And Jesus lifted up his eyes and said, "Father, I thank you that you have heard me. I knew that you always hear me, but I said this on account of the people standing around, that they may believe that you sent me."
John 11:41-42 (ESV)

Jesus did not need the stone to be rolled away; He could have done so by the word of His mouth. He did not need to wait until Lazuras' body was decaying. He could have healed him before death. He did not need to pray aloud, yet, He did.

Why did Jesus do what He did? He always acts per His love for us. Therefore, God does not need to be about Himself for the universe, and all that is created points to Him without Himself needing to point to Him.

He has no needs, so He is not trying to fulfill His needs. Instead, Jesus is always focused on what is best for us and what lessons we need to learn.

Jesus loves God in public so the world can recognize who God is, and how we live in harmony with His purposes for us. Mature believers will do the same. Enjoy God, enjoy people, and do so in public.

One day, we answer to God.

It is good that God does not depend upon our ability, faith, or goodness

Hope in a King?
