God Loves Me
He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him.
John 1:10 (ESV)
God giving us choice can be confusing to some, but it is consistent with God's character. God is love, and therefore must give those He loves the opportunity to accept or reject His love. In order for His choice to be real, the choices must have real consequences attached to them. God is not fake and does not pretend. You and I have real choice and our choices really matter.
The human struggle is not really with the idea of choice, but with the idea that God lives in a timeless state, already knows the real choice we are going to make, and He has adjusted history to reflect this choice.
God loves me and I can choose to love Him, or obey Him, or reject His love. My choices do and will matter.
