Confrontation

Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they quickly brought him out of the pit. And when he had shaved himself and changed his clothes, he came in before Pharaoh. And Pharaoh said to Joseph, "I have had a dream, and there is no one who can interpret it. I have heard it said of you that when you hear a dream you can interpret it." Joseph answered Pharaoh, "It is not in me; God will give Pharaoh a favorable answer."
Genesis 41:14-16 (ESV)

Two years had passed since the chief cupbearer forgot Joseph—two years of prison life. Joseph must have thought his life was being wasted. Yet, God was at work.
We do not always see how God works, but we know He is at work. Undoubtedly, God was refining Joseph to take on an incredible position of authority that would eventually preserve His people. I wonder what Joseph thought about during those two long years. He had every right to be angry and bitter at many people and even, from a human perspective, could question what God was trying to accomplish.

Yet, when the time came to confront those who cheated him, he was kind and gracious. Why?  I think it was because he knew God and acted like anyone would act who knew God and was convinced that God was in charge.
May I do the same, always.

One day, we answer to God.

It is good that God does not depend upon our ability, faith, or goodness
