I can do this…
Look at the ships also: though they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are guided by a very small rudder wherever the will of the pilot directs. So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things.
How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire! And the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the entire course of life, and set on fire by hell.
James 3:4-6 (ESV)
The small things in life have a significant impact on life. Thoughtless words, ignorant actions, or an angry look carry tremendous weight. Laziness in our daily routines, making our home life about us, and absorbing excessive Godless chatter throughout the day leave us weak and vulnerable to our evil desires.
The small habits of life will combine to impact how we live and even the quality of our lives.
Those who prove faithful in small areas are desired and prepared for more significant responsibilities. Focusing on doing the seemingly insignificant, significantly well benefits us and all those around us. This is something we can and should do.
I am thankful God has not asked me to do something I cannot do.
