Actions tell us what we believe

For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and sea creature, can be tamed and has been tamed by mankind, but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. With it, we bless our Lord and Father, and with it, we curse people who are made in the likeness of God. From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so. Does a spring pour forth from the same opening, both fresh and saltwater?
James 3:7-11 (ESV)

Things should make "sense," and we need to pause and rethink things when they do not. For example, if we sing praises to God one day and curse our neighbor the next, something is out of sync.

It is impossible to say you love God and live as if you do not. It is impossible to say you trust God and fret or worry about your future. It is impossible to say you love people and ignore the widow and orphan.

Our actions tell us what we believe and cannot be overruled by our words alone. Those whose actions are out of sync with their words suffer a self-inflicted mental disease and need the medication of truth.

When our actions are in line with truth, we are in harmony, and life is what it should be. This is the way it is meant to be.

One day, we answer to God.

It is good that God does not depend upon our ability, faith, or goodness
