The future has yet to be written.

Then Satan answered the Lord and said, "Does Job fear God for no reason? Have you not put a hedge around him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. 11 But stretch out your hand and touch all that he has, and he will curse you to your face."
Job 1:9 -10

There is a war, a real war, between God and Satan, and we are the prize. Satan schemes and deceives, whereas God informs and gives us a chance to decide honestly.

This war is about the very concept of love. Satan was counting on Job to believe that God's love was demonstrated by the "blessings" he received. Satan was counting on Job, thinking that if he behaved properly, God would love and continue providing him with material blessings.

Satan equated "stuff," "power," and "money" with love. How silly. Love has never been about stuff, and those in horrible situations today are still loved by God as much as those who seem to be living a carefree life. Love is not about stuff. It is about a decision to make someone else more important than ourselves and our agenda. Job understood that quite well.

Our stuff, power, prestige, comfort, or position do not measure life. Life is measured by how effectively we have shown the world around us who God is. We were made to "glorify" God, not to be comforted on this earth. As we glorify God, we are less content with the things of this world, yet we are content with our role in this world.

God knew that Job knew what love was about, and Job had the awesome privilege of being put on display for the universe to see and understand. What is your life about today? What would God teach the heavenly host using you as an example?

God's plan will not be foiled; it will not fail. Satan himself cannot thwart God's purposes. For now, we have the privilege of choice, and can become one whom God uses to demonstrate all that is good, even though we might feel it is terrible for a moment.

It's time to step up to our place in line, for the future has yet to be written.

One day, we answer to God.

What will you do with the facts?

Doing right, right.
