Do you think you have things rough today?

Then his wife said to him, "Do you still hold fast your integrity? Curse God and die." 10 But he said to her, "You speak as one of the foolish women would speak. Shall we receive good from God, and shall we not receive evil?" In all of this, Job did not sin with his lips.
Job 2:9-10
Job seemed to be in this alone. His wife, who was created to be a helpmate, was no help. In fact, this has to be the worst advice ever given to anyone. What kind of logical thinking tells someone to curse God and then die and face God?

On a human level, Job had nothing going for him. His beloved children were gone, his money was gone, his possessions were gone, his health was gone, and now his wife, the only human left to comfort him, was anything but comforting.

Do you think you have things rough today?

Will you use your circumstances to gain pity for yourself, focus on yourself, or as an excuse for your sin? You will be sorry.

If you are disappointed with God, you do not know Him. If you are angry with God, you do not know Him. If you think God randomly picked you out of the world and is picking on you, you do not know Him. If you believe that if your circumstances change, then God will love you more, you do not understand how He works.

It is time you start understanding instead of trying to be understood.
