Step One


And they told Mordecai what Esther had said. Then Mordecai told them to reply to Esther, "Do not think to yourself that in the king's palace you will escape any more than all the other Jews. For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?"

Nobody has been given a position in life to be self-indulgent. Our positions in life come with responsibilities. Queen Esther was elevated to the status of queen over many others for a purpose. Perhaps the purpose was for such a time as this.
 
Likewise, people today have been elevated to various positions for purposes greater than the temporal. Our positions, favors, and rewards can and should be used to squelch the enemy and encourage the faithful.
 
Step one in solving problems is the recognition of the problem. Step two is putting oneself in a position to be used to solve the problem.

Doing right, right.

And there was war again. And David went out and fought with the Philistines and struck them with a great blow, so that they fled before him. Then a harmful spirit from the Lord came upon Saul, as he sat in his house with his spear in his hand. And David was playing the lyre. And Saul sought to pin David to the wall with the spear, but he eluded Saul, so that he struck the spear into the wall. And David fled and escaped that night. 1 Samuel 19:8-10 (ESV) Doing everything right does not ensure peace and tranquility on this earth; instead, it ensures your significance in the universe. David was a man after God's own heart, a faithful soldier, a good friend, and generally, one who could be trusted.
