Evil is persistent. Saying no once to it does not make you a conqueror.
In American football, you could lose if you are out of position once and they score on you. You might have been where you belonged for every other play, but the victory goes to the one in the correct position every play, especially when you forgot, were distracted, or were just lazy.
The quarterback, like Satan, is watching you and is ready to change the play to take advantage of any weakness you present. You may not be able to be taken advantage of today, but you are being watched, and plays will be drawn up to take advantage of you tomorrow in some way.
