It’s Ours To Work

When our enemies heard that it was known to us and that God had frustrated their plan, we all returned to the wall, each to his work. From that day on, half of my servants worked on construction, and half held the spears, shields, bows, and coats of mail. And the leaders stood behind the whole house of Judah, who were building on the wall. Those who carried burdens were loaded in such a way that each labored on the work with one hand and held his weapon with the other…

God's work is always harder than we think it should be, but at the same time, it is a privilege to be a part of it. The work is hard, but the burden is light. This is because the results are not left up to us. Working for our King is a privilege and a responsibility to enjoy; the results always rest in Him, not us. Therefore, the work is hard, but the burden of the work to produce is light.
 
The athlete and the farmer work hard, but are not responsible for the final result. It is ours to work and God’s to produce.
