As Jesus is our example, we should be examples to those who follow us.

On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being locked where the disciples were for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, "Peace be with you." When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you." And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you withhold forgiveness from any, it is withheld."
John 20:19-23 (ESV)

This is one of the greatest moments in history. The confused, fearful disciples are locked in a room in which Jesus appears. He is not dead, and His new body is not restricted. Instead, He wished the disciples peace in this world that promises strife.

He did not take them out of the world; He empowered them to go into the world by giving them His Spirit. He made their mission clear by telling them to follow His example and live as He lived.

Just as God sent Jesus, He was sending them and us. So stay focused, purposeful, and enjoy that God has chosen to use you on the front lines. Our times have changed, but our mission has not. We are still to live at peace with God and man as we can while serving, giving, and dying for our fellow man.

As Jesus is our example, we should be examples to those who follow us. God, alone, gives us wisdom, opportunity, and strength. We have the marching orders; what will we do with them?
