Alignments


"I will send four kinds of destroyers against them," says the LORD. "I will send the sword to kill, the dogs to drag away, the vultures to devour, and the wild animals to finish up what is left.”

We rightfully enjoy focusing on God's mercy and grace. In this, we often forget that God will hold people accountable to the truths of His Word. We do not want to think about God punishing the disobedient. We want to believe that He will always extend another opportunity for mercy and grace.
 
For love to have any value, it must include choice. Nothing created without choice can love, and if choice is a key component of love, the consequences of our choices must be real.
 
There will be a day of judgment for all humans, and God alone will be the judge. He understands our hearts, motives, and actions, and we will be held accountable. This is not a scary thing unless we are not aligned with His will. God is a loving father who desires to extend mercy and grace to His children. Yet those who harden their hearts to His love, purpose, and ways will not be rewarded for their ignorance.
 
Today we have the opportunity to align ourselves with God's love, mercy, grace, and purposes. For now, the choice is

It seems as if we have minimized the Holy Spirit in the Evangelical community in the United States. We have replaced Him with good things, things that He could use, but things that have indeed replaced Him. Instead of counting on the Spirit of God to lead our leaders we count on the majority. Just Listen

As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. And for their sake I consecrate myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth. John  17:18-19  (ESV)   Jesus was sent to earth on a mission, and He is sending us on a mission as well. Our mission is not to make this place our home; instead, it is to use the gifts God gave us to participate with Him in the fight and ultimate victory.   For this to happen, we need to know Him, obey Him, and represent Him to our world. Listen

You shall therefore keep my statutes and my rules; if a person does them, he shall live by them: I am the Lord.' Leviticus 18:5   When a person begins to understand that they need not completely understand God to obey God, they begin to understand. This command is more than just a directive for us to observe; it is the key to a meaningful life.   What is being said here is plain and simple. For those who choose to keep the statutes and rules of God, those statutes and regulations will be the cause of life, real life. Think of how consistent this message is. Jesus told us later that in Him is life. We understand that Jesus died not only to save us from Hell, but to give us life, and give us life more abundantly.   For now, the choice is yours. Listen, which means not just hear but obey, and you will see God's statutes and rules be the catalyst to life.
